Hey guys! Let’s talk about #WritingTask2 today, shall we? We are sure you know the structure of the essay but here is just a few more tips on how to stay focused and be precise with the line and time you’re spending on your writing task 2. What would you add to this scheme?
- You have to read carefully and define what is the question asking you to write about
- Always answer every part of the question
- Think of the proper and good vocabulary you can use
- Introduce the topic and give a simple answer or your opinion if needed. Develop your thoughts by supporting and explaining your ideas with examples
- If there’s a question about your opinion or if you agree or disagree with something you do not need to write about other people’s opinion. It is simple but sometimes students forget to REALLY look at the question they’ve been asked and follow the line. Make your opinion clear in the introduction and conclusion.

Example: We cannot help everyone in the world that needs help, so we should only be concerned with our own communities and countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
On the one hand, I accept that it is very important to help not only our close people as family and friends but also to be concerned about other people’s problems. We all know about the situation in African countries and poor children dying from a lack of vaccines. There are some governmental institutions and individuals in richer countries who can change that by simply paying for the vaccines that already exist. At the same time, I believe that we have an obligation only to help our closest neighbours and local area since it might have a much greater impact and influence. It is possible to find homeless people in even the wealthiest of cities, so I can understand why some people feel that we should prioritize local charity.
